Terms of Use

The agreement

By using Booked Local Events (bookedlocalevents.com), you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree with something here, the site isn’t for you — and that’s okay.

What Booked Local is

Booked Local is a community discovery board for live music, food trucks, and venues, starting with the Williamsburg, Virginia area. Events come from our members and from public announcements. We work to keep them accurate, but plans change: shows get cancelled, times move, trucks break down. Always confirm with the venue or performer before making plans.

We are a bulletin board, not a booking agency. We are not a party to any booking, performance, or purchase arranged between people who find each other here, and we don’t handle payments between them.

Your profile

Claims must be true

Claiming a venue or verifying yourself as a performer is checked by hand. Claiming a business you don’t represent, or a name that isn’t yours, is the fastest way to lose your account.

Your content stays yours

Profiles, photos, menus, schedules, and listings you post remain yours. By posting them you give us permission to display and share them on Booked Local — that’s what the site is for. You promise you have the right to post what you post, and that it is lawful and honest.

House rules

Events from public sources

Some listings are gathered from public announcements, at times with AI assistance. If something is wrong, outdated, or shouldn’t be listed — including your own name on an event — use the Report tool on that event and we’ll sort it out. Our Privacy Policy explains how name-removal works.

Other people’s services

Maps come from OpenStreetMap, fonts from Google, email delivery from Brevo, hosting from Replit. Those services have their own terms, and links from Booked Local may lead to sites we don’t control.

What we can’t promise

Booked Local is a free community service, provided as is. We can’t promise the site will always be available, error-free, or that every listing is accurate. We may change, pause, or retire features as the site grows.

Liability

To the fullest extent Virginia law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages — a missed gig, a cancelled show, a wasted drive, lost profits. If we are ever found liable to you for anything related to Booked Local, our total liability is capped at $25 or the amount you have paid us in the past year, whichever is greater. (Right now, that amount is zero — the site is free.)

If the rules are broken

We may remove content, decline claims, or suspend accounts that break these terms — with a warning when that’s fair, immediately when it isn’t. You can stop using Booked Local at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, and any dispute belongs in the courts located there.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top and flag meaningful changes on the site. Using Booked Local after a change means you accept the updated terms.
